The waiting is over: the new MAOCI Catalogue 2025 launches today, 1 May – more extensive, more inspiring, and more multifaceted than ever before. Across 172 pages, you will discover over 1,000 carefully selected items from the worlds of cast iron, porcelain, glass and matcha – including more than 100 brand new additions to our collection.

A rich, deep green defines this year’s visual language – a colour that speaks of nature, mindfulness and timeless aesthetics. More than just a design choice, it reflects a guiding principle: to reduce to the essential, to find balance, and to let each object speak for itself.

The imagery throughout the catalogue was created by acclaimed photographer Conny Kurth, a long-standing creative partner of MAOCI. With her keen sensitivity to materials, light and form, she once again succeeds in bringing out the unique character of every single piece – presenting each one with clarity, respect and nuance.

Over the past months, great care, thought and dedication have gone into this collection. Ideas were sketched, revised, refined and reimagined. Preparations at MAOCI are currently in full swing across all departments. In recent weeks, our teams have been working tirelessly to bring a host of innovative new products to life. From brainstorming fresh ideas and liaising closely with our suppliers, to prototyping and refining designs—every detail has been meticulously considered.

Just ordered, already sent

It is hard to believe – but time flies by. Only two more weeks and it is already Christmas. And we at MAOCI know that this time of the year is the one with the highest sales for our customers. Even more you can also fully rely on MAOCI during this pre-Christmas time.

It usually does not take longer than 48 hours from receipt of the order, through picking and packaging to shipping. If necessary, partial deliveries will be sent to ensure that you receive the goods in time. The MAOCI logistics and shipping departments work at full speed for you and achieve true masterpieces.

Three-Piece Masterpieces

At first glance, a Gaiwan may appear to be just a simple tea cup with a lid, but on closer inspection, it reveals a seamless transition from tradition to modernity. Gaiwans represent the art of traditional tea enjoyment in today’s world – and starting this year, MAOCI offers them not only in porcelain but also in glass, adding a visual delight to the tea experience!

Using a Gaiwan may seem a bit unfamiliar at first. Start by placing the lid on the Gaiwan with your left hand. Then, place the Gaiwan, complete with lid and saucer, onto the palm of your right hand. Hold the lid with your right thumb in such a way that it’s slightly open, leaving a small gap between the lid and the Gaiwan. Through this gap, the tea can be poured out while the leaves remain behind.

Tea brewed with a Gaiwan can be steeped multiple times – even black tea, which is typically unsuited to multiple infusions using traditional brewing methods. On average, three to five infusions are possible, and with exceptionally high-quality and rare teas, even up to ten. With each infusion, the water temperature is increased and the steeping time is extended.
